The Moors’ Windmills of Consuegra

 The Moors’ Windmills of Consuegra

The Moors’ Windmills of Consuegra represent a Further Maths A-level Course which covers the Cambridge Syllabus 9231 (Paper 1). The course content is split into twelve matrices (units), each one corresponding to one of the 12 imaginary Moors’ windmills of Consuegra. The twelve Further Maths P1 matrices which are available are: Matrix 1 Roots of Polynomials Cubic Equations Quartic Equations Matrix 2 Polar Curves Matrix 3 Systems of Equations   Linear Space Matrix 4 Summation of Series Extension: Fourier Analysis Matrix 5 Mathematical Induction Extension: Laguerre Polynomials Matrix 6 Complex Numbers   Extension: The Pi Operator Matrix 7 Vectors and Planes Matrix 8 Parametric Equations Curve Sketching Matrix 9 Integration: Reduction Formulae Matrix 10 Integration: Arc Length and Surface Area Extension: Radius of Curvature in Polar Coordinates Matrix 11 Differential Equations Matrix 12 Eigenvectors and Eigenvalues * Model answers to exercises are available from:   Chancellor@nightparklane.com A neat method for solving systems of linear equations is covered in matrix 3. A sample of this work was used in an exhibition entitled “The Art of Equations” which was displayed at Portchester library in August 2016.
